Mind Your Business: The Big Data Debate

On February 27th, 2015, the Rutgers Computer & Technology Law Journal, in conjunction with the Rutgers Institute for Professional Education, are hosting “Mind Your Business: The Big Data Debate.” Business experts, legal practitioners, legislators and representatives of the advocacy community, as well as U.S. Federal Trade Commissioner Julie Brill will focus on how businesses use big data and whether the legal system should regulate the practices currently in use.

Michael Affrunti is a third year law student at Rutgers School of Law – Newark and the Editor-in-Chief of the Rutgers Computer & Technology Law Journal. Prior to law school, Michael obtained a B.A. in Communication from Rutgers University and worked on a campaign for New Jersey’s Fourteenth Legislative District. He has interned in both New Jersey State Superior Court and in United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. As a third year law student, Michael also serves as the Treasurer of Rutgers Moot Court Board and as a Governor’s Executive Fellow for Rutgers Eagleton Institute of Politics. His forthcoming publication titled, “Discontinuance in the Face of Destruction: The Future of Telecommunications Law After Superstorm Sandy” will be available in Volume 41 of the Rutgers Computer and Technology Law Journal.
